Wedding Bliss

15 years ago we had a Japanese student come and stay with us for a few weeks. Over the years Keiko has stayed in touch with us and has visited us twice.
A few months ago she got married and so I got to work and made her this card. I sent it only a few days before the tsunami and obviously I was concerned for her.
Yesterday I received an email to say that she is safe as well as family and friends.
This card is inspired by Monica Gale. I love her style of cards.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Bliss, Baroque Motifs, En Francais
Card/Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, Basic Black
Accessories: Wide Oval punch, Riding Hood Red 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon, pearls

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Add Sympathy

This week's challenge over at Just Add Ink is "Just Add Sympathy." None of us like making sympathy cards, but unfortunately, they are necessary. It's nice to be able to give comfort to people at a time of loss.
I tried to make this card peaceful and gentle. I coloured in the butterfly's, from the All a Flutter stamp set using Rich Razzlebery and Pink Pirouette. In the backround I stamped the En Francais stamp using my new Crumb Cake ink that arrived last week. Yay! I love it!!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: All a Flutter, God's Blessings, En Francais
Card/Paper: Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Corner Rounder punch, Blender Pen

Helping Hudson Colour Challenge #9

This weeks colour challenge for the Helping Hudson Appeal is to choose a colour and neutral (you can use as many shades of that colour as you wish) and use them on your papercraft project!
I used Perfect Plum and Pale Plum. Sadly, Pale Plum is retiring and won't be available for purchase after the end of August :(
On the main panel, I've stamped the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral on Whisper White card in Pale Plum ink. Then I stamped the words from Occasional Greetings over the rose in Perfect Plum ink. I then layered it up to a piece of Pale Plum and distressed piece of Perfect Plum, then attached it to the card. Easy!!
Go and visit the Helping Hudson website and check out all the other fabulous entry's and have a go yourself! It's for a very good cause.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, En Francais, Occasional Greetings
Card/Paper: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Whisper White
Ink: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum
Accessories: Mat Pack, sponge

Elegant Kindness

I believe this is called a "gate fold card." Simply a piece of A5 cardstock, just folded so that the 2 sides meet in the middle.
The softness of both colours- Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery, the pearls and the En Francais stamp, give a graceful and elegant feel. Do you agree?

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Echoes of Kindness, Heard from the Heart, En Francais
Card/Paper: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Bashful Blue
Accessories: Bashful Blue marker, Certainly Celery marker, 1/4" Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, Mat Pack, Pretties Kit, Dazzling Diamonds

Vintage Medallion

I have just purchased the Medallion stamp. What a fantastic value! It's perfect for all occasions and a great stamp to use for males. I helped my friend make 36 invitations for her father's birthday. This only took us a couple of hours!
I really love how this card turned out. As you can see, it's also a fab stamp for feminine cards. I inked up the Medallion stamp using various markers, then sprayed it with a spray bottle of water, and stamped it on Very Vanilla card. I love this effect!Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Medallion, Occasional Greetings, En Francais
Card/Paper: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink:
Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Creamy Caramel markers, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Pretties Kit, Vanilla taffeta ribbon, Word Window punch, 1/16" Circle punch, Twine, water spritzer, sponge
