Fifth Avenue Watercolouring

This is one of the cards that we made at my watercolouring technique class a couple of weeks ago. It is an effective watercolouring technique using embossing and your re-inkers. The very talented Alisa Tilsner had an article and insructions in a papercraft magazine. This technique is so simple but very effective. I definitely recommend having a go at this.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Occasional Greetings
Card/Paper: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Watercolour paper, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss Patterns DSP
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Versa Mark, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink re-inkers
Accessories: Silver brads, Aqua Painter, sponge, White embossing powder

Helping Hudson Colour Challenge #9

This weeks colour challenge for the Helping Hudson Appeal is to choose a colour and neutral (you can use as many shades of that colour as you wish) and use them on your papercraft project!
I used Perfect Plum and Pale Plum. Sadly, Pale Plum is retiring and won't be available for purchase after the end of August :(
On the main panel, I've stamped the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral on Whisper White card in Pale Plum ink. Then I stamped the words from Occasional Greetings over the rose in Perfect Plum ink. I then layered it up to a piece of Pale Plum and distressed piece of Perfect Plum, then attached it to the card. Easy!!
Go and visit the Helping Hudson website and check out all the other fabulous entry's and have a go yourself! It's for a very good cause.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, En Francais, Occasional Greetings
Card/Paper: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Whisper White
Ink: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum
Accessories: Mat Pack, sponge

Crayon Resist Class Cards

These are the cards that we made at my crayon resist class last Thursday. It was a great evening. If you missed this class and would still like to learn this cool technique, email me and we'll schedule a date.
The first card is a bookmark card. The bookmark is folded over and attached with magnetic strips:
And the second card uses the stunning stamp set, Fifth Avenue Floral.

I love the colour combos on both of them: Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray.

It's been great hearing about the Stampin' Up! convention. I would love to go one year.

All products using Stampin' Up! products.
Enjoy the weekend everyone,
Debbie

Just Add Ink #12

The Just Add Ink challenge this week is this wonderful sketch:
Here is my entry:
I love the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and especially with this fab colour combo: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray and Whisper White- you just can't go wrong!
I've used the mat pack a lot on this card, it makes a really nice framed look. I used the largest brad from the Flower designer brad assortment and stuck a half backed white pearl from the Pretties Kit on top of it using a mini glue dot- I borrowed this fab idea from the very talented Teneale Williams.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral
Card/Paper: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey, Whisper White
Ink: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Flower Brad assortment, Pretties Kit, Mat Pack, Basic Gray taffetta ribbon, blender pen

I hope you like it, let me know what you think!

I Miss You

Well, I am back from Christchurch after being their for almost a week, as my mum had a bad fall. Sarah made this "I miss you" card for me. We've used this template before, here.
Sarah used the "Three Little Words" stamp set, which can be used for many different occasions and is a great value for money at $28.95. She has also used Fifth Avenue Floral, which is one of my favourite sets. I love the colours that she's used, very calming, from the Soft Subtles colour family.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Three Little Words
Card/Paper: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Tea Party DSP
Ink:
Basic Gray, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Almost Amethyst
Accessories:
Scallop Edge punch, Stamping Sponges, Certainly Celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds

Hope you enjoyed the weekend!

Our Tribute

Last week, Ian's mum passed away. Sarah and I wanted to thank people who had supported us and were kind by giving us flowers, cards and baking. So we spent a couple of days in the craft room and made 40 cards. Each card was very special because it had either used a stamp set or colours that she liked.
We thought that we would share a few on the blog. If you have any questions about any of the cards, please leave a comment or send me an email.

Fifth Avenue Floral

I have just recently been using the stamp set Fifth Avenue Floral and what a gorgeous set of stamps. I wanted to thank a friend of mine who has been helping with Sarah's netball team and made her this card and gave her the packet of cards as a small gift. These were so easy to make and I love using these colours. The Basic Gray, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss work so beautifully together.
