Gift Card Holder
I just love the Tea Party Designer Papers. I made this gift card holder using them and the Sweet Stems stamp set. They go so well together. The sentiment is from Sweet Sentiments which is a level one hostess gift.

Sweet Stems
I really love the new set Sweet Stems and the Sweet Sentiments which is offered in Level 1 hostess gifts. In this card I also used the wheel Friendly Words and the Riding Hood Red DSP. My sister brought me a Take Ten magazine from America and there was a challenge in it. So I decided to play around with some of the new products and this is what I came up with.
Thinking about challenges, over the weekend Ian swam in the King of the Bays swim from Milford to Takapuna. The conditions were quite choppy and the water did not look inviting at all. As I was waiting for Ian to finish there was an announcement that a man was finishing that was blind. He had someone swimming with him but I was so moved that lack of sight did not deter this man from competing. Each day must be a challenge for this man but he went outside his comfort zone and despite not being able to see completed the swim.

Fun Class
Last week I did a class for some ladies and we made a free standing pop-up card, and acetate box. For the card we used the Eastern Blooms and Embrace Life stamp sets. We used Old Olive, Rose Red, and Very Vanilla cardstock. For the acetate box we used Red Riding Hood DSP. We had a great time together. It's fun to get together with other people and create.

Patchwork Card.
Sarah and I now have our craft room back so there has been a bit more cardmaking happening. Sarah got this idea from Dawns' Stamping Thoughts Blog. I think it looks stunning with the new Riding Hood Red Designer Papers. The designer paper was cut using the 1 1/4 inch square punch. She drew in the stitching with a black Stampin' Write marker. Sarah used the Three Little Words for her sentiment and punched it out with the Word Window and placed it it on a piece of card punched out with the large oval.

Sweet Stems
Today Sarah and I had a play with some of the new stamp sets . I used Pink Pirouette cardstock and used a flower from Sweet Stems. I used the Friendly Words wheel with Pink Pirouette ink and wheeled on the bottom half of the card. I coloured the flower in Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery ink with a blender pen, and added dazzling diamonds. I matted it with Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette cardstock and attached Certainly Celery wide ribbon.
Sarah used two of the flowers in Sweet Stems, and coloured them in Old Olive and Rose Red with a blender pen, and added dazzling diamonds. Then cut it out and matted it on Rose Red. She stamped "Thinking of you" in Rose Red and punched it out with the Word Window punch. She stuck a strip of Old Olive on a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and then stuck the greeting and flowers on top.
Both these stamp sets are very versatile and good value. Three Little Words $28.95 and Sweet Stems $35.95. Please email me if you would like to order any of these.

What a Surprise!
This morning my husband's alarm went off early which is strange for a few reasons. One he is on holiday this week and secondly he never leaves his phone on over night. Then I heard a mumble about Wellington. A piece of paper was waved in my face. We are going to Wellington. I was in total shock and it doesn't happen much but I was speechless. Anyway Ian knew I so much wanted to go to Wellington to see the Monet exhibition. After nearly 20 years of being married he still knows how to surprise me. He had organised child care and the next thing I knew we were on a plane. We had a fab day. If you are in Wellington and want to go to a fab cafe go to Caffe L'affare in College Street. So after food and great coffee we went to Te Papa and had a great time looking at these amazing paintings. Monet said "Colour is my day long obsession, joy and torment." Do you ever feel like that sometimes when you are card making. I certainly have my moments. So no cards made today but Sarah and I over the weekend made a few cards with Bugs and Kisses. One is a bookmark card and the other is my first waterfall card and it works.

Easter Update
Hi, hope you are all enjoying the Easter Break. My daughter Sarah (11) and I have been making a few cards. At the moment we are in the middle of house renovations so we have space and lighting challenges. Sarah is creative and not afraid to put together colours and try new things. So there will be her cards on this blog as well. She is making small thank you cards for me to put with my customers orders. This is her April card.
Sarah used Sprinkles and Fresh Cuts stamp sets. She used Whisper White card and four of the new In Colours, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze. She used the large oval and word window punches. Of course to finish it all off Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Fresh Cuts
This is my first attempt at blogging. I have a 14 year old son (Dan) who is a computer whiz and has assisted me greatly. As a reward I did offer him a free card class and judging by the silence I think he was overwhelmed by my offer!
This card here is one I did for our team swap. Thanks so much to Karen who emailed the photo to me. I have really fallen in love with the new Fresh Cuts stamp set. It is so versatile, you can have a fresh, funky look, as well as an old vintage look. I have used the new In Colour Kiwi Kiss in this card and Chocolate Chip. I stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and cut the stamped image into 4 pieces. I then sponged around the outside with Chocolate Chip Ink . I placed them on Kiwi Kiss card and then onto Chocolate Chip card.
