Friday was the last day of school and I wanted to give some of the teachers I work with a small gift of appreciation. The box template was from Ange Kennedy over at Chic'n Scratch.com. She has a fantastic video on how to make it.
The cards were inspired by some cards I saw over on Jenny Moors blog. They are just stunning!
So I'm currently on holiday, and I hope to enjoy some crafting!

Wedding Bliss

15 years ago we had a Japanese student come and stay with us for a few weeks. Over the years Keiko has stayed in touch with us and has visited us twice.
A few months ago she got married and so I got to work and made her this card. I sent it only a few days before the tsunami and obviously I was concerned for her.
Yesterday I received an email to say that she is safe as well as family and friends.
This card is inspired by Monica Gale. I love her style of cards.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Bliss, Baroque Motifs, En Francais
Card/Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, Basic Black
Accessories: Wide Oval punch, Riding Hood Red 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon, pearls

I've been wanting to make one of these watering cans for quite a while now, and when I saw that the Just Add Ink challenge this week is Just Add Summer, I knew that there was no time like the present!

I have used the Baroque Motifs stamp set as well as the Punch Potpourri set. This set can be earned for FREE with a qualifying workshop! For more info, click HERE.
It can't be seen in the photo, but I have added a lot of Dazzling Diamonds onto the flowers.
I got the template and instructions off Splitcoast Stampers.

Stamp Sets: Baroque Motifs, Punch Potpourri
Card/Paper: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Vellum
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Boho Blossoms punch, Beautuful Wings die, Pearls, Dazzling Diamonds

This reminds me, the vege garden needs a good water....

Clean and Simple Stamping Challenge

I really liked the sketch for last weeks' Clean and Simple Stamping challenge, so I decided to take part. I have used one of my favourite colour combo's on my card: Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake. It's hard to go wrong with such a delicious combination!

I have clear embossed the Medallion stamp several times on the Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and used the small flower and the words "Cherish" from the very versatile, Baroque Motifs stamp set.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Medallion, Baroque Motifs
Card/Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, Versa Mark
Accessories: clear embossing powder, Jewel, sponge

Check out the other entry's at the Clean and Simple Stamping blog!

Wedding Thank You's

A few weeks ago, I posted a wedding card for a friend of mine, here. She asked me to make some thank you cards, so I decided to make a simplified version of the wedding card. I really enjoyed making them all, although the embossing on each of them did take a while!
I love the Thank You Kindly set. After making about 40 thank you cards for when Ian's mum passed away, I decided to get it! And I am glad I did, as I have used it time and time again.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Baroque Motifs, Thank You Kindly
Card/Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Silver, Rose Red
Accessories: Silver Embossing Powder,

Elegant Baroque

I was invited to a wedding last Saturday. This is the card that I made for the newly married couple. I didn't have to think very hard for which set to use, because Baroque Motifs is such an elegant stamp set. I embossed the swirl, with silver embossing powder, which gave it that stunning effect. I stamped the flowers with Rose Red ink, and added a pearl out of the Pretties kit, which really stepped the card up.
This is a really simple card, but I think it looks quite special.

Our Tribute

Last week, Ian's mum passed away. Sarah and I wanted to thank people who had supported us and were kind by giving us flowers, cards and baking. So we spent a couple of days in the craft room and made 40 cards. Each card was very special because it had either used a stamp set or colours that she liked.
We thought that we would share a few on the blog. If you have any questions about any of the cards, please leave a comment or send me an email.

A Baroque Christmas

Hasn't the year just whizzed by?! Christmas is just around the corner, so I have been holding a few Christmas Stampa Stacks. We made 10 cards; 2 each of 5 designs. This is my favourite card. Baroque Motifs is such a versatile set and also the price is great: $46.95. This card is very elegant and the Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon also adds to it. I had been eying up the "Many Merry Messages" for a long time. I decided to get it and I have used it heaps.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Baroque Motifs, Many Merry Messages
Card/Paper: Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla
Ink: Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon
