Twisted Easel Card Tutorial

Hi there, as promised, I have made the tutorial for the twisted easel card that I posted HERE. I got my instructions from Monica Gale, who is a very talented stamper. Visit her GORGEOUS blog HERE. I have tweaked some of the measurements. Here it is!

Step 1: Cut cardstock at 26 x 13 cm and score in half:

Step 2: Score the left half diagonally:

This is what it will look like: (the middle score line cannot be seen in the photo)

Step 3: Fold both score lines:

Step 4: Decorate! The card will require a raised embellishment to hold the top half in place.

Hope you have a go, and thanks for stopping by!

Just Add Birthdays!

This week's challenge over at Just Add Ink is to Just Add Birthdays to a papercraft project!
This is a cute pocket card that I made using the Blueberry Crisp designer paper. The very talented, Andrea Walford has made a video on how to make it. View the video HERE.

For the cupcake tag, I inked up the stamp from the Birthday Bakery stamp set (not the words) using the Not Quite Navy marker. I then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the Best Wishes stamp (from Silhouette Sentiments) and stamped that in Not Quite Navy as well. That then gave me a birthday tag.

And of course, no birthday card can be complete without cupcakes!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Birthday Bakery, Silhouette Sentiments
Card/Paper: Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Blueberry Crisp DSP
Ink: Staz-on Black, Not Quite Navy, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Early Expresso
Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle punch, Round Tab punch, Very Vanilla 5/8" tafetta ribbon, silver brads, linen thread, Top Note die, Dazzling Diamonds

Check out the other entry's and have a go yourself!

Elegant Kindness

I believe this is called a "gate fold card." Simply a piece of A5 cardstock, just folded so that the 2 sides meet in the middle.
The softness of both colours- Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery, the pearls and the En Francais stamp, give a graceful and elegant feel. Do you agree?

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Echoes of Kindness, Heard from the Heart, En Francais
Card/Paper: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Bashful Blue
Accessories: Bashful Blue marker, Certainly Celery marker, 1/4" Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, Mat Pack, Pretties Kit, Dazzling Diamonds

A Great Day

On Saturday I had a lovely day with a group of ladies. Here are some of the things I demonstrated and we all made the mini step card. The treat bag and step card are from Jenny Moors blog. The instructions are there too. Isn't the Good Egg stamp set just so cute? :)
The wee pocket with a mini card is made using the circle scissors. I cut a six inch circle and scored 1 3/4" across the bottom of the circle and 1 1/4" each side. The Tea Party DSP and the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set compliment each other so well. This week I will be travelling to Christchurch to look after my mum who had a fall about a month ago. I have been travelling to Christchurch every weekend and after this week my mum will be coming to visit me at Easter. I am really looking forward to this. Have a great week.

Window Card

I was inspired by this Window card on Barb Mullins' website. I used the Dreams du Jour and Fresh Cuts stamp sets. I embellished the front of this card with this tile. To achieve this tile I stamped the image and coloured it in. Then I inked the front with Versa Mark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I heated it with the heat tool. While the card was still wet after the heat tool, I dipped it into the clear embossing powder, heated it with the heat gun. I repeated this step 3 times. This gives a tile like look. Here are the instructions for the Window Card. Barb has a video on it on her web site.

1.Cut 2 pieces of cardstock 4 1/4" and 5 1/2".

2.Score both pieces of card on both sides 4 1/2" and 5".

3.To make the window, line the edge of your 1 3/8" square punch with the 4 1/2" score line. Push the punch as far as it will go and punch out. Move punch across to the 4 1/2" score line on othe side and repeat. Do this to the opposite side of the card as well. This is the front of the card and you can stamp images on this. On the other piece of card stock you can stamp your images .

4. Adhere a piece of acetate to the inside of the window. Fold your score lines so they form a box shape. Put tape on the two outer edges of one piece of card and join the two pieces of card together. Embellish the front.

The other card I used the Illuminations stamp set.

Cup of soup

My sister is having two wisdom teeth removed on Friday so I thought some soup and flowers would be nice for her. This card holds a packet of soup. I thought the Tangerine Tango would be a cheerful colour. I have used the Friendly Words along the bottom. I just love the words in the Sweet Little Sentiments hostess gift. They are good for so many occasions. Petals Pizzazz flowers are so funky and bold. You could also put a sachet of hot chocolate in this as well. I think with the cold season here this would make a lovely wee gift.
